Around topic: women and prisons
For the second edition of the Month of the documentary film in Villepinte, the multimedia library chose two films in which are put opposite the report which maintain women in the prison, that they are (kept) indoors or outside (looking forward to the parlour). They all live in one the outside, between dreamt break and suffered imprisonment goes and comes constant between the inside and. In these films it is a matter of desire, love, dream, courage, of time which passes, of the time when he stays.

An enclosure
Projection will be followed by a meeting with the film director, Sylvaine Dampierre.
The penitentiary centre of Rennes is a prison for women in the middle of the city. This ancient building, in imposing architecture, includes inside its walls a true garden. Located behind the chapel, it is opened to the prisoners under the supervision of the chaplain. In the spiral of imprisonment, it is a space where to break the monotony of days, when to take again the time. This modest, almost miserable garden, opens a way towards the reconquest of one, allows a pause in pressure.
The film casts anchor in the garden to film the prison in its faults, the prison world from its spaces, and because meeting and exchange are there possible. The women of Rennes say about the garden that it is the only place in the prison where they do not feel in prison .
In the garden, opens a space for word as act of resistance, as evidence of freedom.

In side
Meeting will be followed by a meeting with the film director Stephane Mercurio, and by two advisors of insertion and of probation of SPIP of the house of correction of Villepinte.
Women who wait, who become nice, who cheer themselves up morale, who sometimes crack always hope.
In the small home of the association Ti-Tomm, joined with the wall of the prison of the men in Rennes, the hour of the parlour is waited. Families arrive at advance, always. Some seconds of delay, and the door of the prison will remain closed. They come one, two, three times a week, every week, for months or even years. They are predominantly women; this p n lopes of modern time lives to the rhythm of their man in shadow. The time is hanging, life as was stopped. The arbitrary power of the prison, transfers, proscriptions are their daily.
By making the choice to stay resolutely in side of the prison on the side of families the film offers paradoxically an eminently frontal approach of what is prison reality.
The prison in hollow. Life without other one. But surely not next to life.
